ÅK Ensemble (formerly Åbolands Kammarkör) is a mixed choir of around 40 singers from Turku, Kaarina, Pargas, Raisio, Lieto and Salo.

Our aim is to broaden and rethink what choral music can be. Life is too short to stick to a single musical genre, so our repertoire ranges from classical choral music and folk songs to jazz, rock and opera. Our projects often bring us together with musicians, dancers and other choirs. We also want to create meaningful activities that give every singer new challenges.

Our work is guided by three values:

• Ambition: We set challenging musical goals that engage both singers and audiences.
• Joy: We find joy in succeeding together.
• Community: We work towards shared musical goals.

ÅK Ensemble receives FSSMF's Ekroth Award in 2019
